Suggestions and Bug Reports

Hi @denholm11,
Thanks for the report, passing over to tech.
-
@Inspo No worries! I find Spreadex/SportingBet usually appear with mismatched odds too
-
Work was completed on SpreadEx yesterday, so hopefully they are a little sharper moving forward. I will have a look into sportingbet sometime today, thanks!

Suggestion: Would it be possible to add a filter on Fair Odds? I think the current filter of 5 is on the Betting Odds? If something has 7 Betting Odds and 3 Fair Odds this currently wouldn’t show up as a suggestion, but something with 5 Betting Odds and 4.5 Fair Odds would show, despite a worse return.
I was looking at reducing my Odds on the filter to say, 3, to reduce my variance, but feel it might lose me suggestions I’d want to use. Whereas a Fair odds filter setting to 3 I’d see everything I’d want to bet on.
Thanks!

I see what you mean and it’s a good suggestion.
I’ll have a chat with tech on Monday on when this can be added.

In the beginner guide, coral the Bet £5 get £50 seems to have went off as just bet 10 and nothing.

Morning, is there someone checking the results that pop up each morning? I find every time I look, the high EV (north of 120%), the markets very often either don't exist or odds don't match. Not sure if it's just been left until one of us flag it?

Odds are out again on top EV selections

@administrators Edge finder sometimes gets the time/day of matches wrong. For example, it said Slaven Belupo vs Primorje was at 10am today when it's actually at 10am tomorrow. I didn't notice this and placed the bet because I've only noticed edge finder get the time wrong. For example, it said Keciorengucu v Umraniyespor was at 12pm on 28th december but when I went to place the bet I noticed it was already live. I think this should be fixed because the odds can change quickly so I'm guessing most people will be placing bets as quickly as possible, which makes it hard to catch signs that the time/day is wrong before it's too late. Presumably, this has a negative affect on EV.

@ramblergambler that was actually flagged to tech earlier, so they are aware

@administrators Do you think the time before kick off could be added to the pro data page? I ask because whilst I'm still in profit on edge finder, my profit has stagnated for ages now despite almost always going for odds of 2.0 or below, the profit line on the graph is just going back and forth around same level for the last 200 bets. I usually place bets closer to kick off (max 2 hours) but I wonder if I'm missing out on better odds that come with placing bets further from kick off (and therefore before they get slashed massively). I'm hesitant though because in the past I placed bets further from kick off and the fair odds would often move against me and I would be deep into negative EV by kick-off. Being able to filter by time before kick off on pro data would help me confirm my hypothesis.

Hi @ramblergambler,
This is actually something we recently analysed and found little difference in results based on how far from KO the bet is.
I will talk with tech to see if it is possible to add to the pro data page.

@administrators Edge finder has gotten a match mixed up with another match, resulting in an £80 bet I've placed which I cannot cash out and I now don't know if its a value bet or not. It is listing the bet as being for this match on the edge finder (listed as "AE Kifisia (W) v Asteras Tripolis (W)") but when you click on any of the bookie links it takes you to this match which is the match that the edge finder is getting the odds from. I'm guessing it mixed them up because the time is the same and the word "asteras" is the same. Do I have a value bet or not? I'm guessing not since the odds are not moving. But perhaps edge finder is simply listing the name and league wrong but it is actually supposed to be for the latter match.

Hi @ramblergambler,
If the software is taking you through to the wrong game, then I wouldn't bet on this, you should only bet on the selection the software states. You can try to manually find that selection on the bookmaker
I will ask tech to look into why it's picked up the wrong game here and get this fixed.
-
The problem was with 'Asteras' in both names, this has been fixed so it won't pick up two Asteras as the same game moving forward. Thank you for reporting

@Inspo Sorry I'll clarify, I didn't make the bet after realising it was a different game. I made the bet quickly before realising, because of course the odds very quickly move against you, and then I realised afterwards that the edge finder listing was inaccurate.
Given how quickly odds move ideally edge finder listings would be accurate generally. That way we avoid the problem of having to double check every detail of a listing before placing the bet (time/day/match, all things the edge finder has got wrong in the past) and then losing the opportunity by the time we've double checked because the odds moved.
Of course, I don't know the quality of the data the tech team is dealing with and I can empathise as I have been a software engineer and data scientist in the past. But could a more general fix be deployed rather than patching things up for a particular team/game (unless you've already done this and I misinterpreted what you said)? Presumably, matching the date and time should be doable. The team names and league I can see are trickier, but considering two games to be the same based on one word maybe suggests the matching criteria is a bit too permissive.
If it cannot be improved, perhaps a matching criteria confidence rating could be shown, or some kind of warning if the date/time/game/league is only a partial match e.g. "Warning, double check before placing bet".
